The following page is for mentors looking to support youth in their mission to become heroes.
We are looking for mentors to share their stories and advice with the younger generation. We need a mix of youth and adult mentors in order to reach our students.
We need mentors to record a short interview video over skype with us that we will then share with youth. This interview can be done from home and does not require any special equipment.
Mentors must have either overcome a significant challenge, achieved some level of success, or have a particular message that they have publically shared with the world.
We understand that schedules are tight. We also understand that you are passionate about supporting youth. We designed out platform with this in mind. All we need 30 to 60 minutes of your time over Skype.
We are asking our mentors to share two things: 1) stories where they overcame difficult circumstances and 2) their advice for teens in regards to transforming social issues (human rights, environment, security, economics, or information).
As you know, many schools are underfunded. We are asking our mentors to donate their fees to a school of their choice. Heroa and Operation Hope will share the contribution with local news and social media. Management fees can be separated if needed.
HOW DO I APPLY TO BE A MENTOR?
+ We know that our platform is just one step in a teen’s heroic journey. It is important that teens have proper role models to inspire them on their journeys. If are interested in joining our team and feel that you meet our requirements then we are thrilled to have you apply.
+ We will share your stories and advice with our teens. We will also connect students to your blogs and social media for added support.
+ Mentors are not providing direct support to teens. The mentorship is a digital experience facilitated through the game. This allows to you devote minimal time to our project but still make a sizeable impact.

HOW TEENS BECOME HEROES & SAVE THE WORLD:
How are you different from the many youth based programs available?
We understand that there are many programs out there. What differentiates us is:
+ it’s entirely free to both students and schools.
+ we have no limit on size – we can serve as little as 10,000 students or as many as 10 million. Because of how our program is designed we aren’t stuck with a per student cost. In fact, it’s the opposite – the more students that use our platform the more money we raise to support our partnering organizations.
+ It’s not just a one-day event. Many programs inspire youth but they don’t provide them with the support needed to create real change.
What types of students are you targeting?
+ We are focusing on students that need the most support. Many programs focus on students that are outgoing and that are already overcoming their challenges. We have specifically decided to focus on empowering youth that are at the greatest risk.
Is this a religious project?
We have respect for all beliefs. Our project is an inclusive initiative that does not assert any particular doctrine or faith. Since we are trying to reach the widest audience possible, we are asking our mentors to focus on universal ideas such as dignity and empowerment and not the particulars of their belief.
Can mentors promote their own beliefs or projects?
We understand that our mentors may have experienced situations or come across tools that have supported them in their personal journey. We are asking our mentors and ambassadors to focus solely on sharing their general story. Their general story and advice will inspire youth to find their own tools and to make their own unique journey to success.
What is in the prize pack?
We are not at the stage yet where we have the details of the prize pack. First, we need to show public support. Once this is achieved, then we will approach popular youth-focused brands to support our efforts. The prizes will be tailored to each archetype. The prizes will also support youth in their journeys.
Do all students receive the prize pack or only the winners?
This is a very important aspect of our platform. We don’t want to create a sense of competition or failure. We want every young person in our program to be proud of their achievements. This is why we have designed our platform in a way that every student will be rewarded for their efforts. Students, however, will be required to finish the game in order receive the prize pack.
